Brexit Insurance – Haulage News

The UK Government plan to keep Britain within an international motor insurance accord post Brexit – this will make hauliers travelling in the European Union hassle free according to Reuters.

The Department of Transport wrote to the Association of British Insurers to inform them that the government has decided to keep the UK within the Motor Insurance Free Circulation Zone.

The next set is to have this decision approved by the European Commission – the ABI said “drivers, haulage operators and insurers will not face the considerable administrative disruption associated with issuing green cards or having to face border checks”.

The British Insurance Brokers Association said “the decision would be positive for the 2.5 million private and commercial motorists in Britain travelling in the EU annually”.
